The rain stopped, and the sun shone on approx. 300 church members, visitors, and neighbors joined in the flag-waving walking parade for about 8 blocks, starting immediately after the Norwegian worship service, then returning to the church for hot dogs wrapped in lefse, and ice cream and coffee. The celebration was for Syttende mai (Seventeenth of May - Norway's Constitution Day)

A film crew from Norwegian public TV, NRK, was on site to film how Syttende mai is celebrated by Norwegians living around the world - this was broadcast in Norway on Wed., May 17, and can be seen on the website www.nrk.no.  The Minneapolis segment appears at approximately 3 hrs 39 min. into the video, following the syttende mai parade up Galdhøpiggen (the highest mountain in Norway), and before the parade in Beijing (where they had 200 people participate).
