Interview with the President - for KLUBB 500
Pastor Jens Arne Dale

Magne Hatlevik came to Minnesota for the first time late one evening in Feb. 1976. He woke up the next morning and went out to take a look at the mountains. Fosnavåg, Norway, his home, had beautiful mountain scenery.

"To my great surprise, there were no mountains to see. Nobody had told me that Minnesota was flat like a pancake."

Since then, Magne has experienced several highlights, especially at Mindekirken.

"Harry Cleven’s sermons were very good—and John Akslen from Ålesund meant a lot to me. Mindekirken became my Norwegian link that helped me keep the language," Magne says.

Magne has served in several positions at Mindekirken. Currently, he’s the congregation president. As an independent computer consultant, he has been able to supply the church with hardware and software, and he has donated a substantial number of hours of work to the church. Magne gives the announcements during the Norwegian service.

When he has some time off in the winter season, he enjoys downhill skiing. He has worked as a ski instructor in Norway and in Scotland.
