Congregational Council of 2005 It’s my pleasure to introduce the 2005
Congregation Council. Please join me in congratulating these people and ask what
you can do to support their work on the council. Board of Deacons Russell Erickson Jeanette Gadeberg Marit Kringstad Tom Nichol Terry Parker Kathy Sandom Diane Solbakken Board of Trustees Lynn Tesch, Chair Kari Friel Kristi Grodahl Otto Nilsen Oliver Olson Priscilla Sorknes Jennifer Thue Bradley Urberg Carlson Robert Worrall The congregation elected a great group of people to the council and I look forward to the opportunities that this year has to offer. The council started off with a mini-retreat held Friday, Feb 11th at the Augustana Health Center. Thank you to Pastor Dale for organizing the event and Trude Dale and Nina Boe for preparing a delicious meal. We enjoyed getting to know each other better and learning the in’s and out’s of how the council operates. And of course, everyone’s favorite – Robert’s Rules of Order! Our first accomplishment – each Council member was given a newly written ‘Council Handbook’. The handbook is an effort to better define our duties and responsibilities. Council members will serve as point persons to church committees – providing guidance and an important link to the Council. Committees bring together the talent and skills of many people and provide a valuable service to Mindekirken – many times a fun and interesting experience! If asked to serve on one of these committees, please give it your thoughtful consideration. Cindy Peters, President |
