From the President

Mindekirken’s 2006 Annual Congregation meeting was held on Sunday, February 5 with a strong quorum of voting members in attendance. Another great job was done in getting the annual reports together. If you were unable to attend the meeting, you can still pick up a copy of the booklet at church. The reports are interesting and give a picture of the active and vibrant church life at Mindekirken. Consider becoming a volunteer for one of these great organizations.

One important report presented on Sunday was that of the Nominating Committee. Elections were held and I’m pleased to present the members of the 2006 Council who are featured on the front page of the Communicator. The Council had their first opportunity to meet at a mini-retreat held at the Augustana Sky Room. It’s a great way to start out the year – after a lot of pizza and bit of fellowship, we started reviewing council policies and procedures.

At the first council meeting on Feb. 14, the Deacons and Trustees elected as their chairpersons Dorothy Belgum Knight and Oliver Olson, respectively.
