President’s Message – January 2008

January is known as month we celebrate the New Year, remember friends and look forward to the future. A hearty verse of the poetic song ‘Auld Lang Syne’ rounds off the whole thing. You could say the same for Mindekirken. Soon, the annual congregational meeting will be held on Sunday, February 3rd.

We’ll celebrate God’s many blessings from this past year, hear reports from our church leadership, committees and organizations. This will be my last year as congregation president. A sincere thank you to everyone who has given their help, support and prayers over the past three years – it’s meant the world to me.

Part of the celebration will be looking to the future. True, it’s certain the future will bring its share of hard work and challenges. But that is part of the privilege of being a member of a church, our church – Mindekirken. Thank you to everyone who has heard the call and answered. It’s not an easy decision, but important to the future of our church.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make the worship services and other Christmas events at Mindekirken so special. This year’s Santa Lucia program on Dec. 9 was wonderful – bringing light to the dark winter time in verse and song.

Yours in Christ,

Cindy M. Hatlevik
