Within the overall mission of the Church of Christ, the special purpose of Mindekirken, the Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church, is to reach out to the Scandinavian American Community as a spiritual and cultural center.

The overall mission is to "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you... " (Matthew 28:19-20)

As a spiritual center for the Scandinavian American Community, Mindekirken worships in both Norwegian and English.

Mindekirken is a warm and inviting place for visitors and members alike, where people join in fellowship across different ages and cultural backgrounds.

As a Scandinavian cultural center, Mindekirken encourages activities such as Leiv Eriksson International Festival (2nd weekend October), Syttende Mai Celebration (Sunday closest to May 17), folk dance and festive dinners.

Mindekirken encourages public relations as an aid to outreach and as an investment toward growth.
