When Todd was in high school, his parents purchased the former President’s House of the Lutheran Ladies’ Seminary in Red Wing, Minnesota. He continued to have an interest in the Lutheran Ladies' Seminary, publishing Castle on the Hill: The Lutheran Ladies’ Seminary of Red Wing Minnesota in 2023.

About the event
When Todd was a senior in high school, his parents purchased the former President’s House of the Lutheran Ladies’ Seminary in Red Wing, Minnesota. The story of the seminary eventually became Todd's senior honors project. After graduating from Luther-Northwestern Seminary in St. Paul, Todd became a Lutheran minister. One of the four churches where Todd served in Minnesota was founded by Rev. Bernt Julius Muus who advocated for a women’s school in Red Wing. Todd continued to have a keen interest in the Lutheran Ladies' Seminary, sometimes as a hobby and other times as an obsession. In 2023, his obsession culminated in the publication of Castle on the Hill: The Lutheran Ladies’ Seminary of Red Wing Minnesota . The book received the Award of Commendation from the Concordia Historical Institute the following year.
