About the event

Music plays an important role in national identity as certain songs are associated with particular key events. Please join us for a sing-a-long in celebration of the history of the United States of America where we have sung patriotic and protest songs during times of war and times of peace, including: "Yankee Doodle" (the Revolutionary War), "The Star-Spangled Banner" (the War of 1812), "Battle Hymn of the Republic" (the American Civil War), "God Bless America" (World War II and again after the September 11 terrorist attacks), "This Land Is Your Land" (popular protest song during the turbulent 1960s), and "God Bless the USA” (the Iraq War).

The music program will also feature Norwegian patriotic songs and Norwegian immigrant songs. Pastor Tim will provide musical accompaniment on his accordion and on the piano.
