Wenche Strømdahl (1954) was born and raised in Rødøy in Nordland. She has her education from, among others, UiO (Literature Science) and the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre Arts. She has been a permanent employee at Teater Ibsen, Hålogaland Teater and Trøndelag Teater and has visited most theatres in Norway with her own productions, such as:  Hamsun in words and tones , by Wenche Strømdahl, 1989,  Berre kjærleik og død by Ingar Sletten Kolloen, 2000 and Min största smärtas barn by Wenche Strømdahl, 2008. 

Among the roles she has played: Solveig and Ingrid in Peer Gynt, Miss Julie by Strindberg. Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. Happy Days and Endgame by Beckett. Deception by Harold Pinter. Kvitugla in Fellow Man by Olav Duun.

Strømdahl is also active as a teacher and speaker and is widely used as a reader at important national events, such as the Signing Jubilee for the Royal Couple, 2016, Nidaros Cathedral and the National Festgudstjeneste, 17 May, Nidaros Cathedral, 2020.

She has 2 adult children, 2 grandchildren and spends every summer at the cabin at the family farm in Rødøy.


Petra Bjørkhaug is a music educator and cantor from Trøndelag Music Conservatory, and completed a master's degree in organ improvisation from the Norwegian Academy of Music in the spring of 2017. She has been employed as a cathedral cantor at Nidaros Cathedral and Vår Frue menighet since 2007. Petra has taught organ improvisation, liturgical playing and methodology at the Department of Music at NTNU in Trondheim. She has worked as a cantor in Trondheim and Bodø, and has had an active concert career at home and abroad as an organist, pianist and conductor for several decades.

Petra composes music for choir and organ, among other things. In the fall of 2019 and fall of 2020, she was involved in music and participation in "Dømt til evig fortapelse", in collaboration with Trøndelag Teater.


His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon

Crown Prince Haakon was born on 20 July 1973, and is heir to the throne of Norway. The Crown Prince married Miss Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby in Oslo Cathedral on 25 August 2001.


There are three children in the Crown Prince and Crown Princess’s family: Marius Borg Høiby, Her Royal Highness Princess Ingrid Alexandra and His Highness Prince Sverre Magnus. Crown Prince Haakon has one sister, Her Highness Princess Märtha Louise.


Crown Prince Haakon carries out a wide variety of official engagements in Norway every year, focusing especially on entrepreneurship and innovation in Norwegian business, youth and diversity, and nature - with a special regard for the ocean and the issue of climate change.


In 2013, he initiated the SIKT conference. This has become an annual meetingplace where young leaders from all sectors of Norwegian society discuss the future of Norway.


Every year the Crown Prince travels abroad accompanied by Norwegian delegations, strengthening bilateral relations within trade and industry, science and culture.


Crown Prince Haakon holds the rank of general in the Norwegian Armed Forces, admiral in the Norwegian Navy and general in the Norwegian Air Force.

Itinerary for October 7 at Mindekirken

Tuesday Open House is $15 and includes the program & lunch


9:15 am Registration begins in the church lobby

10:00 am "Doomed" program begins in the sanctuary

11:15 am Move to the Fellowship Hall for lunch

12:00 pm Visitors not attending Tuesday Open House will begin registering to be seated in the sanctuary for the event. Registration will continue until 1:00.  After lunch the Tuesday Open House guests will then be seated in the sanctuary

1:15 pm Musical interlude in the sanctuary with Petra Bjørkhaug, piano

1:30 pm All are seated in the sanctuary- no one allowed entrance after 1:30

2:00 pm Crown Prince arrives. After the blessing, a selected group of church members will greet him. He will be in the church no longer than thirty minutes.

 

No selfies, however, photography is allowed. Please refrain from approaching H.R.H. Crown Prince Haakon of Norway.

 

To register you need to let us know if you will be attending TOH only, attending TOH  and the blessing of the ship, or attending the blessing of the ship only.
