Pastor Al Aakre of the Eidsvold-Svea Lutheran Parish in Bay City, Wisconsin will present on church architecture within Norwegian-American Lutheranism. The presentation will explore the larger theological, social, and ethnic influences upon design through the disappearance of altar-pulpits (prekestolalter) from Norwegian-American churches. The presentation will consider what makes a sanctuary "truly" Norwegian-American Lutheran as opposed to anything else.
